Rural Ottawa South Support Services (ROSSS) and Your Privacy

At ROSSS we take your privacy and the protection of your personal information and personal health information seriously.

ROSSS collects personal information and personal health information for the purpose of assisting you with maintaining your independence. We collect this information during the intake process when you first become a client of ROSSS and over the course of providing services to you we record information in your file.

We collect this information directly from you or your substitute decision-maker, only if you or your substitute decision-maker gives consent or if the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) specifically permits the collection without consent. We only collect personal information and personal health information if other information will not serve the purpose of the collection and only collect as much information as is necessary to meet the purpose of the collection.

We safeguard your information through established security policies and practices and on-going monitoring.

You have the right to access your personal information and personal health information and can request a correction of this information if required. You also have the right to make a complaint or challenge our compliance with our organizational Privacy Policy or PHIPA.
